Lawyer Found Music Harmonious

BOSTON—Mark, a lawyer, braving the cold New England weather, was in the audience at the Boston Opera House to see the much talked about Shen Yun Performing Arts Company performance on Sunday, Jan. 10.

"It was very beautiful," he said.

He was amazed to see the dazzling "colors and the synchronization in the dancing."

What was so impressive in his eyes was "the discipline in everything they are doing, not only the intricate movements but the conditioning that is required to do all this."

Shen Yun Performing Arts exhibits classical Chinese dance, which includes rigorous jumps and demanding tumbling techniques.

The message Mark received from watching the show was that "the search for inner peace...the search for the right path in life something everyone can relate to."

He is sure that if one keeps "an open mind one can learn, hopefully [from the show]."

Mark said the music was harmonious and it has a "good feeling."

He concluded that Shen Yun is “a true Chinese cultural show … there is nothing contrived about it. "

The Show 'was beautiful, just so stunning'

Mr. Polabar, a music student, and his mother, a U.S. government employee, were glad to have come to the Shen Yun show.

"It was beautiful just so stunning to see, and the music was very touching," said Pam, Mr. Polabar's mother.

Her son joined in and said, "I thought it was very pretty too and I really like the singing.”

Both agreed that the live orchestra, which uniquely blends traditional Chinese instruments with western instruments, was "great."

"I thought their [the singers] voices were very good, especially the alto’s voice [Yang Jiansheng singing "Too Late for Regret"] it was very striking," said Mr. Polabar.

'The dancing for sure, and the costumes are awesome'

Mr. Tayedi, a professor from a University in Massachusetts also attended Sunday's show with his wife, an elementary school teacher.

"We loved all of it," Mr. Tayedi said. "It's beautiful."

"The dancing for sure...and the costumes are awesome," Mr. Tayedi continued sharing his impression.

Mrs. Tayebi said that the couple will definitely recommend this show to their friends.

New York-based Shen Yun was in town for four shows from Friday through Sunday, Jan. 8–10, with new original songs, dances, and musical arrangements. Next month, the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company will return to Massachusetts for two shows in Worcester, Mass., on Feb. 6 and 7 at the Hanover Theatre.
