First Church in Roxbury

10 Putnam St, Boston

Historic Roxbury meetinghouse at the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry, among Boston's oldest congregations. The landmark building hosts concerts, tours, community conversations, and justice-oriented programming in Nubian Square.

Accessibility

Use 8 John Eliot Square for the main entrance; 10 Putnam Street leads to the rear with additional steps. The front doors require about five stone steps up an incline; a wheelchair ramp is to the left. Four accessible pews at the front of the sanctuary may be reserved in advance for performances. An elevator from the performance space provides access to accessible bathrooms, though some doorways are narrow and may not fit larger mobility devices. Sign language interpreters and assistive listening devices are available for Vivo Performing Arts concerts on request; contact boxoffice@vivoperformingarts.org at least four weeks ahead.
